PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland guard Ahmed Ali scored a career-high 32 points, but the San Diego Toreros came away with a 78-70 victory over the Pilots Saturday in West Coast Conference basketball action at the Chiles Center.
Ali was extremely efficient and finished the game 10-of-14 from the field, 6-for-7 from three-point range and 6-for-7 from the foul line. He added six rebounds in 38 minutes of action.
Latrell Jones finished with 14 points and four rebounds for the Pilots (6-9, 0-6 WCC).
Portland shot 47 percent from the field, but allowed the Toreros (2-6, 1-3) to shoot a blistering 56 percent overall.
