PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland senior defender Conor Johnston was selected to the 2016 West Coast Conference Men's Soccer All-Academic Team, while four of his teammates earned all-academic honorable mention. Johnston is a two-time pick to the conference all-academic team after garnering honorable mention as a sophomore in 2014.
Johnston is an outside back who helped the Pilots record six shutouts en route to the WCC title. The native of Sonoma, Calif., scored two goals, one game-winner, and added an assist. He's a double major in Finance and Spanish, and he boasts a GPA of 3.43.
Earning all-academic honorable mention for the Pilots are seniors Geoffrey Dunn and Dirk van der Velde, and juniors Paul Christensen and Matthew Coffey.
