The early 2000s saw some stellar names crowned the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion. Chris "Jesus" Ferguson (2000), Carlos Mortensen (2001), and Robert Varkonyi (2002) each won "The Big Dance" in Las Vegas in a time when online poker either did not exist or was still in its infancy.
