Today we’re focusing on a cash game spot where you are against a tough player in Middle Position who opens to 3BBs and you call on the Button.
In this scenario both players have fairly wide opening ranges. The key difference is that the Middle Position’s range is uncapped, including all the combinations of AA/KK/AK. Your range is a little more condensed and capped in this spot and does not include those premium combos that are still in MP2’s range.
Another important factor in this scenario is that since both players have wide ranges and the stacks are quite deep related to the size of the pot postflop, the player in position has a significant advantage.
