Third Big Transfer in a (just over a) Week for Sounders
Roman Torres is a fierce competitor!
So the the crazies in the Seattle Front Office kept up the craziness of the late season transfer window. Yesterday, on August 12th, Sounders FC announced the acquisition of imposing Panamanian National team captain and center back Román Torres. Torres is a talented, physical and very skilled on set pieces. He was the hero of Panama’s 3rd place finish in this summer’s Gold Cup 2015.
This acquisition is unlike the earlier transactions made to during this window–transfers bringing in attackers Erik Friberg, Andreas Ivanschitz, and Nelson Valdez to bolster the flagging Sounders attack– because Torres does not address a weakness on the team.
