The Seattle Sounders went into the RIOT (Rio Tinto Stadium) in Sandy Utah to face their nemesis Real Salt lake; but could not pull of the victory, losing 0-2.
Problems in the 1st half were prevalent as Real owned possession 60% of the time in the 1st half. RSL also made tackles at a rate of 80%–these two trends would play out for the entire game.
In the 12th minute a sloppy foul in the form of a hand ball by Roman Torres in the penalty box allowed for a free strike for Salt Lake’s Javier Morales.
