Jon "Skalie" Kalmar, the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event fifth-place finisher, showed his game hasn't slowed much by taking down the Pokerfest Live Mini held at the Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) poker room, a win that earned him £21,000.
The £60+£10 buy-in Pokerfest Live Mini fell some distance short of the 2,500 entries needed to break even on the £150,000 guarantee, with 1,473 entries processed, leaving an overlay of £61,620 for the players to enjoy.
A total of 153 places were paid – Dan Owston was the unfortunate bubble boy – with the likes of Leon Campbell (143rd - £200), Kyriacos Dionysiou (124th - £300), Renee Xie (106th - £350), Andrew Sweeney (101st-r £350), Colburn Tomlin (70th - £450), Paul Jackson (39th - £550), Basharat Mahmood (33rd - £550), and Ross Patman (20th - £625) among those who finished in the money.
