Pennsylvania poker players moved a step closer to joining Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware residents in being able to play online when a bill passed out of its House Gaming Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

House Bill 649, sponsored by committee chairman John Payne, passed by an 18-8 vote and seeks to legalize and regulate online gaming in the state. The state's 12 brick-and-mortar casinos would be first in line as operators must be licensed and then have an approved system to verify that players are located within the state and at least 21 years of age.

The bill now goes to the full House (no pun intended) for a vote and then for another vote in the state Senate before going to Gov.
