AcePlay Poker, a free-play online poker room offered by the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, announced this week it will be shutting down in November before ever shifting to real-money online poker.
Amidst the recent announcement that Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware will be sharing player pools, the news of AcePlay’s closure comes as a surprise as they will not be cashing in on the license to operate real-money online poker once held by parent company American Casino & Entertainment Properties (ACEP), which owns the Stratosphere.
In an $850 million deal this week, Golden Entertainment acquired ACEP.
