After just over eight hours of play, the field of 72 was whittled down to a winner. It was Mississippi native JW Carter who steamrolled his way through the field to claim the massive first place price of $58,110.
“I feel great,” said the new main event champion with a big smile on his face, “I’ve only been playing tournaments for four years, but this feels great.”
Carter was one of the biggest stacks throughout the tournament, but it was the hand prior to the final table that catapulted him to the chip lead.
