In this video I am sharing a fun hand from the $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em Shootout at last summer’s World Series of Poker.
When you flop the nuts, try to figure out your opponent’s range and then play in a manner that maximally exploits it. Do not fall into the habit of always slow playing or always fast playing. If you aren’t analyzing each and every situation you encounter, you are leaving money on the table.
The hand also illustrates the importance of being aware of stack sizes, in this case betting the flop in a way that sets up a favorable stack-to-pot ratio for getting it all in on the turn with a strong hand.
