The Oakland Raiders rookie report to training camp on July 23rd and after a year where the Raiders allowed 29.2 ppg, there will be a lot of attention on the defense. The Raiders will be on HBO’s Hard Knocks and much of the focus will be on Paul Guenther and this new look defense. Marquel Lee had the 2nd most tackles for Oakland a season ago but after signing Vontaze Burfict and Brandon Marshall, Lee needs to step up in 2019. Te’von Coney was an UDFA after leading Notre Dame in tackles in 2018 with 123 which surprised many people. Despite encouraging report, Coney still has a lot to prove to make it to the final 53-man. Eddie Vanderdoes has battled injuries and now is entering year 3, it’s time to put up or shut up. Last on the list is #4 overall pick Clelin Ferrell who will be under a microscope this offseason.
