NFL Franchise Tag window is nearly here, with just a few days left before NFL teams have to franchise tag players or they reach 2020 NFL Free Agency. The NFL’s potential new CBA could cause a major impact on who gets tagged and there are several notable players who are NFL franchise tag candidates. Near the top of the list are Dak Prescott, AJ Green, Chris Jones, Amari Cooper, Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry. NFL Rumors are heating up around the NFL franchise tag, as teams try to get deals done before the window. That includes the Cowboys, who could tag Dak Prescott or Amari Cooper and appear primed to let Byron Jones leave in free agency. Other notable players in the market for major deals include AJ Green, Shaq Barrett, Derrick Henry, Chris Jones, Justin Simmons and Hunter Henry. Ryan Tannehill and Jameis Winston are in a unique situation. They should get a starting chance somewhere in 2020, but the franchise tag is expensive (upwards of $27 million) for them. While they all won’t be dealt, players like Matt Judon, AJ Green, Yannick Ngakoue and maybe even Chris Jones could be possible tag-and-trade candidates. As for the CBA, there will be a window where NFL teams are allowed to use two tags (franchise and transition) this year. That window could shut if there’s a new CBA, meaning teams like the Cowboys, Titans and Bucs might have to rescind a teag.
