2019 Michigan Football Highlights: #19 Michigan hosted a Top 25 showdown with #14 Iowa in this Big 10 battle in week 6 of the 2019 college football season. Michigan defeated Iowa 10-3 behind a dominant performance from the defense. Don Brown’s unit had 3 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery & 8 sacks in an impressive victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes. Shea Patterson’s stats do not jump off the screen, but Michigan got off to a fast start early in the 1st quarter to obtain an early lead and the defense did the rest. Patterson finished 14/26 for 147 yards and 1 INT, while Zach Charbonnet had Michigan’s only touchdown of the game while rushing for 42 yards on the ground. Nico Collins also contributed with 63 yards on 3 receptions On defense, Kwity Paye had a breakout game with 4 tackles & 2.5 sacks. Jordan Glasgow also showed out with 9 tackles & 2 sacks on the day. In the secondary, LaVert Hill, Josh Metellus & Ambry Thomas each had an interception. Michigan improves to 4-1 on the 2019 college football season & will travel to take on Illinois in week 7.
