Description
The Dallas Cowboys have 3 options when it comes to quarterback Dak Prescott: Meet his contract demands, franchise tag him or let him walk and find a replacement. While Stephen Jones says that Dak’s contract is a “top priority” for the team, some fans feel it’s best to move on from Prescott all together. Tom Downey, host of the Cowboys Report, has heard your requests so we’re ranking our top Dak Prescott replacements. However, Tom still thinks the Dallas Cowboys’ best path to winning a Super Bowl is to pay Dak. Dak Prescott contract discussions have been an ongoing issue for the ‘Boys since last season. Should the team choose to franchise tag Dak, it would cost around $33 million and the longer Jerry Jones and the Cowboys wait for a deal, the more expensive the price tag gets. ‘It’s almost Valentine’s Day, so get your gifts now and avoid the doghouse! Tom’s got you covered with 15% off everything at Pro Flowers: http://chatsports.com/flowers When it comes to replacing Dak, it’s easier said than done. Could Mike McCarthy and Co. look to bring in a veteran QB like Tom Brady, Cam Newton or Philip Rivers? Brady to the Cowboys rumors have been swirling with his future in New England up in the air. But as you’ll see, when you look at Brady and Prescott side-by-side, TB12 isn’t the upgrade Dak doubters so desperately want him to be. Philip Rivers, Cam Newton and Andy Dalton are other options mentioned. Rivers is parting ways with the Chargers after 16 years, but has shown signs of aging and decline as of late. Newton has battled injury and Andy Dalton wasn’t even better than Dak when he was at his best. The one veteran exception on Tom’s list is Teddy Bridgewater… but it’ll cost ya. For the money and production, you might as well just pay Dak at that point. As for Jordan Love, he isn’t really ready to play right away. Which begs the question, if Dak is gone… are you really going to put Cooper Rush out there? Special deal alert!
