The Cowboys are 6-7 through week 14 of the 2019 NFL season, but still remain at the top of the NFC East despite having a losing record. Cowboys rumors are hotter than ever surrounding Garrett & his future with the team. Garrett is firmly on the hot seat, but owner Jerry Jones claims he will not make a coaching change during the season. IF & WHEN the Cowboys decide to part ways with Garrett, who will be the next Cowboys head coach? Urban Meyer, Lincoln Riley & Tony Elliott are a few names to keep an eye on. Contract talks have been ongoing the entire season between the Dallas Cowboys & QB Dak Prescott, with the latest rumor suggesting that Dak Prescott could sign a 10-yr, $400 MM contract, becoming the richest QB in NFL history. However, with Jason Garrett on the hot seat & a 10-yr contract being unheard of in the NFL, it does not seem like much of a reality that this would be the contract extension that Dak signs. If Jason Garrett wants any chance to remain head coach of America’s Team, he will have to win the NFC East & make a deep run in the 2019 NFL playoffs -- at least to the NFC Championship game. Who would you rather have as the next Cowboys HC: Urban Meyer or Lincoln Riley? Both CFB coaches are among the favorites to land the gig. Two other names that could be options are Mike Zimmer & Tony Elliott. Zimmer has a much better shot to land the job than Elliott, who does not have experience as a head coach. Dallas Cowboys Report host Tom Downey discusses the possibility of hiring Troy Aikman as Cowboys General Manager. Jerry Jones & Stephen Jones have been in control of the team in recent years, but many people believe it’s time to relinquish Jerry Jones from the duties & hire someone else to come in and make executive decisions. Aikman says he would be interested & thinks he would be ‘very good’ at running an NFL team. Plus, could the Cowboys finally add a new kicker? They’re working out two on Monday, Kai Forbath and Tristan Vizcaino to possibly replace Brett Maher.
