Dallas Cowboys training camp is underway and that means there is a lot of news, notes and hype coming out on Mike McCarthy’s 2020 squad. Cowboys Report host Tom Downey has the latest on Cowboys camp, including news on La’el Collins, Trevon Diggs, CeeDee Lamb, Dontari Poe, Chidobe Awuzie and much more. Cowboys rumors had focused on a possible move to safety for Chidobe Awuzie. However, Awuzie said today that won’t be the case in 2020. He’s expectating to remain a corner. Cowboys draft picks Trevon Diggs and CeeDee Lamb are getting hyped, again. Will they emerge as impact players in year 1? Or this is too much Kool-Aid drinking? Cowboys injury updates include notes on La’el Collins, Dontari Poe and Connor Williams. Collins remains out with what McCarthy calls a “minor injury.” Williams is able to participate in practice, but Poe isn’t quite ready to go yet. Plus, where are Cam Erving and Brandon Knight. The Cowboys defense was vanilla last year. Early reports from training camp are that this won’t be an issue in 2020. Although the exact scheme will be kept under wraps, it will be a more multiple defense. Also, Aldon Smith is getting hyped right now.
