Dallas Cowboys grades from their much-needed 35-27 win over the Detroit Lions focus on Dak Prescott, Kellen Moore, Ezekiel Elliott and Jason Garrett. The Cowboys news on those players and coaches is mostly positive, although that’s not the case for the Cowboys defense. Dak Prescott was awesome in this contest, and this time Kellen Moore and Jason Garrett let him sling the football. Prescott had 444 yards and 3 TD’s on 29 of 46 passing. It was one of ihs best games and it came when Amari Cooper was limited by injury. Randall Cobb and Michael Gallup helped pick up the slack with Cooper hurt. Cobb had 4 for 115 and a score, while Gallup caught 9 passes for 148 yards. Tony Pollard was also (finally) involved in the offense, with 4 catches for 44 yards and a TD. On the bright side for an otherwise poor showing for the defense, Robert Quinn, Byron Jones and the Cowboys CB’s played well. The Cowboys run defense was also horrible, letting Dalvin Cook run for 97 yards and Alexander Mattison 52. Cook torched the Cowboys in the air, going for 86 yards. Cowboys and Vikings met on Sunday Night Football with Kirk Cousins and Co. coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs, snapping their four-game win streak. Dallas, with a short week to prepare after their TNF game vs. the Giants, looked to extend their lead in the NFC East. This is Kirk Cousins’ first time playing the Cowboys since he was quarterback of the Redskins in 2017. But it was Cousins and Minnesota who grabbed the win.
