Joe Douglas and Andy Weidl spent 14 years working together in the NFL. The pair first converged professional in the Baltimore Ravens organization in 2005 when Weidl was hired as an area scout, joining Douglas in the same line of work.
The two worked in Baltimore for a decade up to 2014 before they reunited with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016, spending another four years together before Douglas earned the general manager position with the New York Jets in 2019.
The point is, he knows Weidl, now the Pittsburgh Steelers’ assistant general manager, better than most would.
