The WPIAL has decided that the sons of Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, the son and nephews of Steelers assistant Joey Porter and the sons of former Steelers linebacker Jason Gildon can compete in spring sports at their new schools after transferring from Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic.
But the WPIAL still isn’t sure whether to make all seven eligible for football next season.
The WPIAL board of directors met Monday, reviewed paperwork and ruled Tomlin’s sons eligible for spring sports at Shady Side Academy; Porter’s son and nephews eligible at North Allegheny; and Gildon’s sons eligible at North Allegheny.
