The 2022 WPIAL football season is just days away from kicking off. Last year we returned to a full slate of the regular season and playoffs after the COVID-shortened 2020 season. Last year was a historic season for streaks being broken. Uniontown, who opted to play an independent schedule, ended the longest losing streak in the state (35 games) with a Week 2 win over Carrick. Two weeks earlier, Northgate, who had the longest losing streak in the WPIAL (32 games) ended their streak with a Week 0 win over Carlynton. That was Uniontown’s first win since 2016 and Northgate’s first win since 2017.
