Week 3 of the high school football season is typically the end of the first third of the nine-week season. However, with the COVID-shortened season this year it nearly marks the halfway point of the 7-week regular season. Big news this week came down that a federal court ruled the Governor’s COVID-related restrictions on assemblies unconstitutional, which opened the door for more spectators at sporting events. However, the State House failed to overturn the Governor’s veto on a bill that would give school districts the ability to set spectator limits, as a number of representatives flipped their vote. The PIAA also announced the format for State Championship tournament, with Championship Games being held the weekend of Thanksgiving.
