With Pouncey out, Steelers bring back offensive lineman Legursky

Doug Legursky, 29, who replaced injured Maurkice Pouncey as the starting center in Super Bowl XLV, will get a chance to do it again after he signed with the Steelers this morning.

Legursky, who also can play guard, broke into the NFL with the Steelers as an undrafted rookie in 2008. He had been most recently with the San Diego Chargers in 2014.

A product of Marshall University, he was elevated from the Steelers’ practice squad in October 2008 after guard Kendall Simmons was placed on injured reserve. In 2010, he replaced Pouncey when the Pro Bowl center was injured during the AFC championship game.
