There are some players who are tough to see go, no matter the circumstances. Whether the player retires, leaves via free agency or is released. Sometimes the business of football makes it difficult to watch a fan favorite move on in one way or another.
This may certainly be the case for veteran cornerback for the Steelers, William Gay. Gay is due about $1 million dollars this season, and when you compound that with Father Time catching up to him on the field you can assume the end might be near.
At the end of the season Gay spoke to reporters about his future, and how it was anything but certain, even considering hanging up the cleats for good and focusing on his off-field passion of spreading knowledge and resources for those dealing with domestic violence.
