William Gay is sort of numb to the free-agency process. He's been through it three times. He's 31. Establishing worth on the market is a fun process, he says, but only the top-tier guys have the true power. For the others, Gay says, free agency is a waiting game -- mainly, waiting on info from your agent.
Gay didn't wait long, of course. The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to sign the veteran cornerback to a three-year extension on Tuesday. The deal can't be completed until the new league year officially opens at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday.
