The title of the WPIAL receiving champion has a dual component where two different players could claim the crown in the same season. This happened in 2019 when Yough’s CJ Waldier had the most receptions (72) while Upper St Clair’s David Pantelis had the most yardage (1135 yards). Waldier repeated the feat in 2020, leading the WPIAL with 46 receptions in 7 regular season games. At the end of the regular season, South Fayette’s Charley Rossi (711 yards) was the WPIAL’s yardage leader. Last season, Greensburg Salem’s Cody Rubrecht was the only player to top 1000 yards in the regular season (48 receptions for 1010 yards) but is moving to quarterback this season.
