Third-year Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens finds himself facing quite a bit of turmoil thanks to his own doing after an explicit message was written on his eye black on Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys coupled with questions about his effort and maturity following concerning displays in the loss to the Cowboys.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin kept his comments tight-lipped and deferred to private conversations Tuesday regarding Pickens and his behavior, which is yet another example of Pickens being a problem for the Steelers.

On Wednesday though, teammate and fourth-year tight end Pat Freiermuth stated to reporters that teammates just have to be there for Pickens through the ups and the downs and stated that he knows the receiver’s frustration and outbursts comes from a good place, that of wanting to win and to make plays to help the team win.
