Vikings Release WR Mike Wallace

As expected, the Minnesota Vikings parted ways with wide receiver Mike Wallace prior the start of the new league year.

Wallace, who was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Mississippi, was scheduled to earn $11.45 million in 2016.

Last season, Wallace caught 39 passes for 473 yards and a pair of touchdowns after being acquired by the Vikings via trade from the Miami Dolphins last March.

After his first four seasons with the Steelers, Wallace was signed a five-year deal as an unrestricted free agent with the Dolphins that was worth $60 million.
