The Pittsburgh Steelers recently signed rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett and veteran defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi to contracts and now that those deals have been filed with the NFLPA, we can update the team’s 2022 salary cap status with a little less than a month to go before the team reports top Saint Vincent College in Latrobe for their annual training camp.
The Ogunjobi contract, as I reported Tuesday morning, has a 2022 salary cap charge of $8 million. As for the Pickett rookie deal, as expected, it includes a 2022 salary cap charge of $2,557,801. Those two contracts used $8,767,801 of available 2022 salary cap space once top 51 roster displacement took place.
