Pittsburgh has always gotten significant contributions from its young players. Look no further than Ben Roethlisberger to find an example of a young player being a major factor in the team’s success during his early years on teams with proven veterans such as Jerome Bettis, Hines Ward, and Alan Faneca.
The team was able to win a Super Bowl with his presence added during his second season with the team. Now that said he was a quarterback and was an improvement over the guys in his place before him, but nonetheless, he was able to contribute in a major way despite being young and new to the NFL.
