The Pittsburgh Steelers played an awful game. Mike Tomlin’s performance was just as bad as those who took the field. One of Tomlin’s several questionable decisions came late in the game, accepting an illegal touching penalty that to turn a 4th and 2 into a 3rd and 7.
It was a confusing sequence, the refs taking time to determine the penalty and the Steelers flip-flopping between accepting and declining it. After the officials announced multiple times Tomlin had declined it, he changed his mind and accepted the penalty, pushing the Browns back 5-yards but giving them a third down re-do.
