After the 2019 NFL Draft the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t just add 9 drafted players, but also 10 undrafted players. This put their roster well over the 90-man offseason limit. Moving Ryan Shazier to the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list helped, but they added P.J. Locke to his roster spot.
In other words, they needed to release two more players to get to the league-mandated 90 players.
On Thursday afternoon they did just that by releasing place kicker Matt McCrane and former AAF CB/S Jack Tocho.
While Tocho won’t bring up any crazy memories with fans, they should all remember McCrane for stepping into kicking duties in Week 17 vs.
