Football is the ultimate team sport, and Ben Roethlisberger realizes his role in that process. After a very tough defeat in Week 3 to the Chicago Bears, where no one in particular played well, it was Roethlisberger who stood up and took the blame for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ poor play.
Roethlisberger talked openly about how he needs to be better, which is true, but also about how the loss falls on him because of his poor play.
Nothing Roethlisberger said was false, but the brunt of the blame for the loss at Soldier Field falls on shoulders other than the starting quarterback’s.
