Steelers Waive WR Tyler Murphy To Make Room For RB Le’Veon Bell

Somebody had to go from the 53 man roster now that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell has returned to the team following his two-game suspension and that somebody wound up being rookie undrafted wide receiver Tyler Murphy.

The Steelers announced Wednesday that Murphy was waived so that Bell could be activated to the team’s 53 man roster.

Murphy, who converted to wide receiver during the offseason after finishing his college career as a quarterback at Boston College, dressed for the Steelers first two games. He only played 7 total snaps on offense in the Steelers Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots and caught one pass for 16 yards.
