Dax Raymond, we hardly knew you.
Raymond suffered an ankle injury earlier in the week as the Steelers began padded practices at Heinz Field. Saturday, he was waived/injured, replaced on the roster by undrafted rookie Kyle Markway. Markway had been released last week by the Giants.
With Raymond injured, the Steelers had just four healthy tight ends with which to work at practice this week. Raymond had been signed in the offseason after being released by the Bears.
Markway played collegiately at South Carolina, entering the draft after a junior season that saw him catch 31 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns.
