As per NFL rules, the Pittsburgh Steelers can only dress 46 players on game day and at least 90 minutes before the start of any match up, they must officially declare a list of seven inactive players. Any player carrying an injury significant enough to have been ruled out of the game on Friday is always guaranteed to be included, while the rest of the names are generally players buried on the depth chart. In Week 1 of the 2018 season, the Steelers’ first list of the year contains a mixture of both.
Tight end Vance McDonald was the only player ruled out on the final practice report of the week due to injury and he will be joined on the sidelines by a number of players who figure to regulars on the inactive list this season, assuming the rest of the squad remains healthy.
