Steelers To Play Starters Against Lions

The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to play their starters in their final preseason game on Saturday against the Detroit Lions, head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters on Thursday.

Tomlin said all those are healthy are going to play.

“Our mindset is to play all those that are healthy, out of respect to the old third preseason game.”

Tomlin said the Steelers will look to move on quickly for some guys who are known regulars in order for some position battles to potentially work themselves out. He added that Russell Wilson will start at quarterback.

The Steelers’ first-team offense has been lackluster through their first two preseason games, so it’s a unit that will be eager to show what they’re capable of in the third and final preseason game.
