Steelers to debut ‘Block Number’ throwback uniforms Sunday vs. the Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers fan base has been very vocal about their displeasure with the current uniforms. However, if you were an alien visiting this planet for the first time, and studied the Steelers’ jersey history you would suggest there hasn’t hardly been any change in the last 25 years.

Oh, but when you ask any black-and-gold blooded fan, they will look at you and say, “But those numbers!! Bring back the block numbers!!”

The late Dan Rooney chose to change the jersey numbers to match the numbers on the team’s helmets in 1997, and added the team’s logo to the left chest of the jersey.
