The Pittsburgh Steelers will be in their Sunday best on primetime this week against the New York Jets. Per a team announcement, Pittsburgh players will be donning their throwback, “block number” uniforms on Week 7’s Sunday Night Football to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the Steelers’ Super Bowl IX win.
The Steelers’ throwback uniforms have been fan-favorites for years, but there’s a small change this time around, with the team switching from black facemasks to era-accurate gray ones.
The team will also wear special “50th anniversary” jersey patches to commemorate the team’s 1974 season Super Bowl IX victory.
