Two tryout players, wide receiver Damoun Patterson and guard R.J. Prince, both announced Sunday afternoon on Twitter that each had signed contracts with the Pittsburgh Steelers following the team’s 2018 rookie minicamp. On Monday, the Steelers made those moves official in addition to announcing the waiving of one player.
Waived on Monday by the Steelers was rookie undrafted free agent offensive lineman Ikenna Nwokeji, who played his college football at Elon. Nwokeji was one of 13 undrafted free agents signed by the Steelers a few weeks ago.
Nwokeji was given a $2,000 signing bonus so that amount will instantly turn into dead money for the 2018 season as long as he doesn’t have an injured designation attached to him.
