The Steelers, thin at wide receiver because of injuries, signed Cobi Hamilton to their active roster Saturday and released cornerback Al-Hajj Shabazz.
Wide receiver Markus Wheaton was declared out for Sunday’s game at Miami because of a shoulder injury and Sammie Coates has a broken left index finger as well as cuts to his hand that required stitches. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Hamilton, drafted in the sixth round by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013, has been on the Steelers’ practice squad since the start of the season. He signed with them Aug. 5, after training camp started.
