The Steelers released kick returner Jacoby Jones today and signed safety Ross Ventrone to the active roster.
Ventrone began the season on the 53-man roster before being released in October when Martavis Bryant was added to the roster after serving his suspension. He was signed for a short time by the Patriots, but they released him last month.
Jones was signed in early November to assume the kick return duties after Dri Archer was released. But Jones lost those duties for good after he fumbled the opening kickoff against the Colts. He has been inactive for the past three games.
