After undergoing bicep surgery on Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers placed linebacker Marcus Allen on injured reserve. To fill his roster spot, the team signed linebacker Tae Crowder off the New York Giants practice squad, the team announced today.
Crowder, a third-year linebacker, was waived by the Giants last Tuesday. He went unclaimed off waivers and signed with the Giants practice squad, but now he’ll make his way to Pittsburgh. The former 7th-round selection out of Georgia played in 13 games with 8 starts for the Giants this season prior to being waived. He had 45 total tackles, a pass deflection and a sack on the year.
