Steelers Sign OLB Jayrone Elliott To 53-Man Roster; QB Devlin Hodges To Practice Squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few transactions on Tuesday to fill open spots on both their 53-man roster and practice squad.

Signed to the practice squad on Tuesday was quarterback Devlin Hodges, who was with the team all throughout training camp and the preseason. Hodges was signed to be the team’s new No. 3 quarterback following Joshua Dobbs being traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday. During the preseason, Hodges completed 20 of his 38 total pass attempts for 190 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

The practice squad opening was a result of the Steelers signing wide receiver Johnny Holton off of the 11-man unit on Saturday.
