The Steelers signed fullback Roosevelt Nix to a four-year contract Saturday. Nix, who made the Pro Bowl as an alternate last season, was going to be a restricted free agent.
Nix, who has been with the Steelers since 2015, has been a standout special teams players and has served well as a blocker for Le’Veon Bell. He had one rushing and one receiving touchdown last season.
Nix has played 41 games, with nine starts, including four in the playoffs. He is a former All-Mid-American Conference defensive lineman at Kent State who has made the transition to fullback on the fly in the NFL.
