The Steelers signed fifth-round pick Brian Allen to a four-year contract Monday. Allen, one of two cornerbacks the Steelers drafted, is the first draft pick to sign his rookie deal.
Allen played just two seasons on defense at Utah after starting his college career as a receiver. Allen, who is 6 feet 3 inches and 215 pounds, had five career interceptions for the Utes.
The Steelers also drafted Cameron Sutton out of Tennessee in the third round. Sutton is expected to contend for the starting job in the slot. Because of his size, Allen projects as an outside corner if he makes the 53-man roster.
