The Pittsburgh Steelers had a good situation on their hands at offensive tackle. They had several capable players, but not enough roster spots. Usually when this happens another team will inquire about a player and see if there could be a trade in the works.
It seems the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the team who wanted some offensive line depth, and they got it in the form of Jerald Hawkins.
This per Rick Stroud:
As for what the Steelers get in return for Hawkins, Greg Auman who covers the Buccaneers for The Athletic states the teams will swap late round picks in the 2021 draft.
