Steelers S Mike Mitchell Played With Two Torn Groins Last Season

Safety Mike Mitchell probably won’t want to remember his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the former third-round draft pick certainly didn’t play well in 2014. After the season was over, Mitchell announced that he had played with an injured groin.

During an interview over the weekend with David Todd on 970 ESPN, Steelers defensive backs coach Carnell Lake revealed that Mitchell played through two torn groins.

“Mike, last year, really played hurt all year long,” said Lake. “He had, which we found out later, not one groin, but two.
