When the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to sign pass rusher Derrek Tuszka to their 53-man roster, the hope was they would be able to get Jamir Jones to clear waivers and add him to their 16-man practice squad. However, for the second time this season the Steelers were burned by the waiver wire and the Los Angeles Rams signed Jones to their practice squad.
The first time they were unable to retain a player was when 6th round draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft Quincy Roche was signed by the New York Giants when the Steelers trimmed their roster to 53 players.
