The Pittsburgh Steelers released veteran defensive back Josiah Scott on Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports. The move comes after just four training camp practices, heading into the second week of the final offseason program.
Scott, a fourth-round pick out of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, was originally signed to the Steelers practice squad in the 2023 season before being signed to the 53-man roster of the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of Week 7. He played his only snaps on defense of the season in that outing, allowing a catch on each of his four targets in coverage, though for only 11 total yards.
